CELEBRATING 30 YEARS IN MEDJUGORJE SATURDAY JUNE 25TH, 2011 ST. MARY'S CHURCH 2026 WINNIPEG STREET REGINA, SK There is a special day in Regina Canada on June 25th, the 30th anniversary of the apparitions for more information go to http://ollo.sasktelwebsite.net/ It seems that a 39-year-old man presented to the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital,in October 1986 complained of blurred vision and black spots in front of his left eye. He had returned from Medjugorje On 30 September and in the late afternoon he had stared at the sun and believed he had seen a vision. The following day he stared at the sun hoping to see the same vision. After a protracted length of time staring at the sun, believed to be 45 minutes, He noticed a black spot, and when he looked away the black spot remained. His vision was badly impaired and blurred and worsened over the next day. So much so, he was unable to recognise people, but over the next week his vision improved. It also seems a 58-year-old man presented to the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in October 1985 after having a simular experience only this time in Ireland, complained of blurred vision affecting both eyes and inability to read print in front of him. The onset of symptoms was a week prior to presentation. While praying at a statue of Our Lady in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare, he had gazed at the sun for approximately six minutes in an effort to see an apparition. It was a weak October sky and he was wearing untinted lenses. While he was staring at the sun it turned black, but he could still see the edges. He looked away, the black spots persisted, and his vision was blurred.

Pilgrims from Korea, 29 of them, in the age from nine to seventy-eight, together with their priest Agnello W.Choi climbed the Cross Mountain on Saturday morning on their knees, in the honour of the 28th Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje. Father Agnello Choi has been in Medjugorje already on six occasions, and this, seventh time decided to come with the special prayer intention for the peace at Korean peninsula, that is going through difficult political troubles. Six full hours were needed in order for this group of pilgrims to climb to the top of the Cross Mountain (520 m above the sea level). Lots of sweat and sacrifices were needed, but at the end they succeeded and reached the top without major cuts and scratches, and as they came to the foot of the Cross they all together celebrated and praised the Saviour and Redeemer of the human kind – Jesus Christ! Agnello Woonseok Choi, in atmosphere full of joy and union with his pilgrims, one day after the climb looks renewed and full of strength. He emphasises how this difficult climb was not the first climb they had taken, and if God provides it will not be the last as well. NEW ALBUM I am preparing an album with twelve songs for Christmas 2009, the songs will be written for the whole family and have songs for all ages with gospel songs country songs, folk, even if i say so myself a brave attempt at opera by myself, maybe a little bit like Ave Maria, but as i said a new composition with a new tune and new lyrics. all the songs will be orignal and penned by myself there will be devotions to God, Our Lady, Jesus, Padre Pio, even the Late Pope John Paul II, and the chidren of Fatima . Fr. Reinfried Frei (90) from Switzerland, a missionary in Tanzania for 61 years now, came in October 2008 for the tenth time to Medjugorje as a spiritual counselor of a group of Swiss pilgrims. Whenever he is on vacation in Europe, he responds gladly to the invitation of the organizers of pilgrimages who need a priest to accompany their group. Fr. Reinfried has a great admiration for Fr. Slavko Barbaric whom he knew personally. He is very enthusiastic about Medjugorje and thinks that this is “a hope for the Church in Europe”. |

The existing sacristy of St. James’ parish church was built in 1969, for usual needs of a parish. Under the outside altar, built in 1989, there is a larger sacristy, which has also become too small fur current needs. Year after year, Our Lady’s apparitions are bringing to Medjugorje an increasing number of pilgrims who are regularly accompanied by priests. In 2007, 34.265 priests came to Medjugorje, which means more than 90 a day. In summer period and for big feasts, several hundred priests are in Medjugorje. In July 2007, for example, 628 priests from 46 countries from all the continents participated in the Priests retreat, and during the Youth Festival, and the Anniversary of the apparitions, they were over 300. |

Lights camera ,action!!! If there are any groups going to Medjugorje who wish to memoralise their pilgrimage with photographs. I am available to come along. Having said that as one can appreciate this will not be so much a pilgrimage for me, as many people want there photographs taken, and therefore it can be a rather demanding and consuming time. Which is something i can deal with. Send me an e mail if yoo need someone to capture those special moments. It is important however that should a group decide on a photographer, that they realise that photographs may be taken without there prior knowledge, after all this is how some of the best photographs are taken...naturally. to see some photographs taken by me , click on the pilgrimage page in the main menu. |

OSCAR WINNER @ 80 I am sure Oscar won't mind me mentioning this, he was not born at the time of Fatima. But he was one of the first people up to the summit of Mount Krizevac on Oct 3rd 2006, not that it was a race of course as this is the way of the cross. But @ 80 years and something that is still quiet a feat Oscar. in the background you can just see Saint James parish, the big white area. Well done Oscar the rest of your team are still climbing I expect. The way of the cross is best experiened here if you read Father Slavko's "Pray from the Heart" book available from the official bookshop next to the church. This hill is where Father Slavko said his final rosary on 24th November 2000 and then blessed everyone and passed away peacefully up at the top near the White cross... Everyone misses him dearly. But Our Lady told us in a message the next day on the 25th Nov. I rejoice with you and wish to tell you that your brother Slavko has been born again in Heaven and intercedes for you........ Apparitions : Mirjana October 2nd 2006
While I was in Medjugorje I had the good fortune to go to Comunita Cenecola, where Mirjana, one of the visionaries, was to have an apparition on Monday October 2nd. We got up at the crack of dawn...O.K so it wasn't the crack of dawn but near too it, and made a short Taxi drive where there was a crowd of several thousand people. I managed to get inside the building where I saw Father Anselm who I should mention is on pilgrimage as he celebrates 52 years in the monastic life..Hello M.S.B. Any how I decided to leave the building as there were some people disrespectful to anyone and everyone in there determination to see Our Lady, so I went outside. but I still enjoyed the experience immensely and would go again, here is the message Mirjana recieved Dear children, I am coming to you in this your time, to direct the call to eternity to you. This is the call of love. I call you to love, because only through love will you come to know the love of God. Many think they have faith in God and that they know his laws. They try to live according to them, but they do not do what is the most important; they do not love him. My children pray and fast. This is the way which will help you to open yourselves and to love. Only through the love of God is eternity gained. I am with you. I will lead you with the motherly love. Thank you for having responded.” Our Lady also mentioned “My children, priests hands are blessed hands of my son, respect them.

Rosary Crusade of Reparation:
On Saturday 14 October the Rosary Crusade of Reparation took place, with people assembling outside Westminster Cathedral. Taking a route to the Brompton Oratory. The sermon was preached by Fr Tim Finigan. and it was wonderful at that. He talked about Our Lady of Fatima amongst other things. It was truly inspiring, I got some lovely photos on route. What a wonderful rosary crusade and a great ending at Brompton Oratory, Thank you Father Tim Finigan for your great Sermon on Marian values & Fatima etc. I also met people who had just come back from Medjugorje with me, and people who had just got back the following week after me. I shall leave these photos up for now. So anyone seeing them if they would be so kind as to pass on medjugorjenews.org address. it would be much appreciated, and also a mention of the devotional song would be good P.R and worth a pat on the back...so well done  |
